Facilitators

Luciano Berardi Luciano Berardi is a dynamic facilitator who has worked extensively in the community as an individual, group and family counselor, teacher/parent consultant and crisis intervention counselor. He has conducted workshops on anger management, emotional intelligence, teen pregnancy, family relationships, mentoring and substance abuse. Mr. Berardi holds a master’s degree in psychology and is a doctoral candidate in the department of psychology at DePaul University in Chicago. He is a member of The National Latino Psychological Association, American Psychological Association and Midwest Psychological Association.


Dr. Linda Coles Dr. Linda Coles has successfully served as a principal, assistant principal and teacher at the elementary and high schools levels within the Chicago Public Schools. She was Phi Delta Kappa’s Educator of the Year in 2000, recipient of Chicago Principals & Administrators Outstanding Leadership Award in 2001 and recipient of Chicago Teachers Union Quest Center 10th Anniversary Community Leadership Award in 2002.


 

Katherine E. Hainey Katherine E. Hainey is held in high regard within the Chicago Public Schools as a guidance counselor, facilitator, administrator and Spanish teacher at the elementary and secondary levels. She acted as a liaison between the school and home and developed numerous youth programs within the Chicago Public Schools


Dr. Noni K. Gaylord-Harden Dr. Noni K. Gaylord-Harden is a dynamic and nurturing facilitator who has worked with parents and children in the Chicago Public Schools, Memphis City Schools and the Institute for Juvenile Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She guides parents to solutions that are best for them.


Dartanyoun Harris Dartanyoun Harris has an extensive background in business and credit issues having worked in the credit information division at Dun & Bradstreet and as a real-estate broker. He has worked with adults in the City Colleges of Chicago in areas of test preparation, tutoring, GED preparedness and as a GED instructor.


Yirser Ra Hotep Yirser Ra Hotep teaches courses across the U.S and around the world on Stress Management, The Science of Yoga, The African American Family, Holistic Health, etc. He has held positions as a social worker, child welfare specialist and substance abuse counselor. As a master Yoga instructor he has taught Yoga to Chicago Public School Students and presently certifies Yoga instructors.


Dr. Marisha L. Humphries Dr. Marisha L. Humphries is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in assessing and treating preschool age children with behavioral difficulties. She has worked with parents and school personnel to develop behavior management plans to assist in promoting children’s positive social and academic development. This includes facilitating ISAT workshops for parents to help them understand the test, its impact on grade promotion and the significant impact this standardized test has on Chicago Public School high school enrollment.


Anthony Bharataji Joplin Anthony Bharataji Joplin is a Certified Anger Management Counselor through the Chicago Anger Institute. Mr. Joplin is one of the lead facilitators for a program at California State Prison in Sacramento called Inside Circle, which sponsors and facilitates inmate groups inside the prison. He is co-founder, president and lead facilitator of the Dhyan Group which specializes in areas of human development, including group and individual mentoring, mentor training, conflict resolution and crisis intervention./callout] [raw]


Laura E. Knights
Laura E. Knights has conducted professional training and facilitation at many Illinois schools. She has provided clinical therapy for youth, developed individual treatment plans, worked with parents, school staff and affiliated service providers within the Chicago Public Schools to assist students.

Marisol Morales Marisol Morales is an innovative bilingual facilitator who has worked with parents, students, universities and community based organizations in the U.S., Mexico, Italy, Hungary and the Philippines. Ms. Morales specializes in areas of service learning, parenting, adult education, early childhood development and community partnering. She holds a BA in Latin American/Latino Studies and a MA/MS in International Public Service Management from DePaul University.


Clinton Rhodes Clinton Rhodes is a former teacher, sales representative, District Manager and Regional Vice President in the educational publishing industry. Mr. Rhodes has over 25 years of experience working with parents and educators across the country in selecting quality educational material for children in grades K through 12. He has received numerous awards for outstanding work with parents and educators.


Patricia Walton Patricia Walton is a nationally certified licensed massage therapist. She has studied at the Chicago School of Massage Therapy and received additional training in Swedish Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Infant Massage and the Palmer’s Method of seated massage. In 1995 she opened WALTON’S URBAN RETREAT, a full service spa. Patricia also gained spa experience at Mario Tricoci, Urban Oasis and the world-renown Elizabeth Arden Salon.


Howard Williams Howard Williams has been facilitating family oriented workshops and training for over ten years in schools and various social service organizations. He is a licensed Professional Counselor, certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and Certified Anger Management Counselor. Mr. Williams has worked with “at risk” youth and families for over 20 years and is co-founder and C.E.O. of Serenity Family Social Services, a mental health and social services agency based in Chicago.


Teresa Zeigler Teresa Zeigler is a board certified licensed acupuncturist, and Chinese Herbalist. She holds a dual masters degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbology. Ms. Zeigler is certified in the treatment of digestive disorders, gynecological disorders and Tui Nai Chinese Massage. Teresa has done extensive study in Japan and at the Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center.
